Ole Mathisen
As an eight-teen year veteran of the New York jazz and studio scene, Ole Mathisen has established himself as someone with a unique voice that led All About Jazz to write “His saxophone wanders into seductive odd time signatures riding an angular trail, adding fast jabs and a tumble of notes that blow across in an intense whirl.” He has performed live, and worked on over 100 CD releases with musicians such as Louie Vega, Omar Hakim, Paula Cole, Darryl Jones, Steve Smith, Eddie Gomez, Rufus Reid, Will Lee, Gil Goldstein, Michael Gibbs, Peter Erskine, and Randy Brecker. Mathisen has three records under his name, and is the leader of Ole Mathisen ZERO-SUM, and is the co-leader of FFEAR.
